Harri Vuori s Yläpuolla yön ja hallan (Above the Night and Frost) for piano (2000) was first performanced by Katriina Korte at Villa Kokkonen, Järvenpää in April 2001. Harri Vuori conducted various journeys of musical discovery before finding his own idiom in the 1980s – characterised by carefully shaped details, rich tonal colour and textures, and harmonies derived from the overtone series as in French spectral music.
